Infinite Crisis
There was a massive roster of champions and superheroes for you to choose from.
There were even tons of game modes and maps where you can battle it out against an opposing team.
Infinite Crisis, developed by Turbine studios and published by Warner Bros Entertainment, was a MOBA game that was highly anticipated back in the day. The game featured all the major heroes and villains from the DC universe and combined them all together perfectly into one brilliant and fast-paced MOBA game.
As one would have expected from a MOBA game, all of the game modes consisted of a total of 10 players per game, divided into two teams of five. The objective of each game varied depending on the map being played on. There were three core maps in the game: Coast City, Gotham Divided, and Gotham Heights, respectively.
The core objectives ranged from capturing and holding core points on the map to destroying the enemy team's core building. Of course, each different game mode had a different set of strategic tactics involved, so the learning curve was fairly high for players as they aimed to master all these tactics.
The characters of the game each filled different roles. There were tanks that functioned as damage soakers for their team, DPS classes who dealt a steady and consistent amount of damage, mage/assassin classes that did huge bursts of damage in a short duration of time, and support classes that provided buffs to their team and debuffs and crowd control for the enemy team.
As mentioned before, the character variety was just huge. Players could see more famous heroes like Batman and Superman, along with some uncommon sights like the Atomic Wonder Woman or the Blue Beetle.
Graphically speaking, the game looked fantastic. The game maps looked phenomenal and had an insane amount of detail. The character models all had brilliant designs, and the spell animations were basically eye candy because of how good they looked. The background music of the game was also great, and the spell sound effects made all the spells and abilities sound all the more terrifying.
Like almost every single online game of that time, there was an online store where players could purchase content for real-world money. There was premium content like character skins and such, but all of this was purely visual and fortunately had no impact on the balance of the game, which was absolutely crucial.
Infinite Crisis was a great addition to the MOBA genre, which did a great job of fitting all characters from the DC universe into one single game. As of August 14, 2015, however, Infinite Crisis and its servers were shut down because the game doesn't have a sustainable paying player base, which ended up making the game unprofitable for Warner Bros.
